Living with mast cell activation syndrome often means living with uncertainty. A good day and a rough day can look the same on the calendar, and the reasons behind them can be hard to pin down. Mast Cell Decoded exists to make those patterns a little easier to see, with practical tools that help you plan around your triggers and have more good days.
How it started
Mast Cell Decoded began the way a lot of MCAS projects do: with a symptom diary and a nagging question. Do the rough days line up with something in the air?
Pollen and smoke were the obvious suspects. Pressure swings, heavy cloud, and geomagnetic storms are suspected triggers too, but they’re much harder to keep track of. Checking five different sources every morning wasn’t realistic, so we built one place that does it for you.
What we’re building
The daily forecast is the first tool, and it’s free. Enter a ZIP code and each day gets a score from 0 to 100, a simple label, and a plain-English note on what’s driving it. It watches five known and suspected triggers: air quality, pollen, pressure swings, cloud cover, and geomagnetic activity.
What’s next. The forecast is only the beginning. We’re working on more tools to help you understand your own patterns, and we’ll share more as they get closer.
What we believe
- Patterns, not promises. The forecast describes environmental patterns. It can’t predict how you’ll feel, and everyone’s triggers are different. We’ll always be honest about what the data can and can’t tell you.
- Your health information is yours. We collect as little as we can, and we never sell it or use it for advertising. More on that below, and in our Privacy Policy.
- Plain language. No jargon where a simple sentence will do.
- Always learning. The scoring is being tested against real diary entries and will keep improving as we learn which patterns matter most.
How we protect your information
We take your information seriously. Symptoms, triggers, and how you’re feeling day to day are medical details, and they deserve the same care you’d expect from a doctor’s office. That’s why privacy shapes how we build everything here, not just what we promise.
- We don’t ask for your name. An account is just an email address and a password. Your location is optional, and a ZIP code is enough.
- Two-factor authentication is available. Turn it on in your account settings, and logging in will also need a code from an app on your phone. Even someone who learns your password can’t get in without it.
- Passwords are never stored. We keep only a one-way scrambled version, so not even we can see yours.
- Collect less, protect what’s left. We only ask for what a tool actually needs, and we never sell your information.
Where the data comes from
The forecast combines public and licensed weather, air quality, pollen, and space weather data. Moon phases are calculated from the date.
Not medical advice
Mast Cell Decoded is an information tool, not a medical service. It doesn’t diagnose or treat anything, and it’s no substitute for your doctor. Please talk with a qualified healthcare provider about your symptoms and care.
